Why yoga? Yoga is a system of time-tested technologies that support the well-being of a person, regardless of physical capabilities, age or general flexibility. The only thing needed for someone to benefit from yoga is a willingness to honor their current physical condition, a willingness to show up and practice, and a willingness to experience for themselves the benefits that are possible.

Yoga is truly for anyone and everyone, regardless of age, weight, or prior experience.
My name is Lourdes. I have been teaching yoga since 2013 (500 hr RYT), and formally studied yoga since 2000. I came to yoga as I approached middle age. I have witnessed for myself the powerful impact that yoga can have on improving mind, body awareness and overall health. I have experienced deep healing of my nervous system and increased sense of ease in day-to-day life. After a life-threatening health scare in 2009, yoga became a foundational aspect for my healing, which led me to create Wellness Begins Within. I am committed to sharing this practice and increasing the accessibility of yoga for everyone.

I invite all of my students to follow their own inner guidance and fully respect their bodies as we practice asana (postures), coordinate breath practices and incorporate various types of meditation. Students of all levels are invited to take their practice to whatever levels benefit them as individuals. Students are encouraged to discover and explore their own inner well-being, their own inner magnificence, despite outer circumstances.
